BitStream GmbH is an independent, self-financed software vendor for IT security and compliance from Passau, Germany, founded in 2014. Its core product is SecCheck for security and compliance analysis of Windows systems, alongside omniDEPLOY, Win-INNsider and File-INNsider.
BitStream develops specialized software solutions to automate technical processes in business-critical IT environments.
The focus is on transparent results, clean technical structures, and solutions designed for long-term operation.
Software built from practice
BitStream grew out of many years of large-enterprise consulting for public authorities, critical-infrastructure operators, and large corporations.
Recurring tasks from this consulting practice were transformed into software step by step - first cloud-based automation, later the automated security report from which our core product SecCheck emerged.
Our products are therefore not designed on a drawing board; they encapsulate experience from real projects.
Independent and self-financed
BitStream GmbH is completely self-financed and independent of external investors. Product development and strategic direction follow the actual needs of our customers - not investor interests.

On the way to a hybrid company
BitStream uses artificial intelligence productively within its own organization - from AI-supported analysis in SecCheck and AI assistants in internal workflows to our internally used AI-supported CRM.
Our target picture is a hybrid company in which people and AI assistants work together: AI takes on recurring work, while people make the decisions and carry the responsibility.
We use AI only where it is genuinely useful and privacy-compliant - EU-hosted and GDPR-compliant. At BitStream, automation never shifts responsibility.
And: no AI at any price. Annoying hold loops and chatbot rounds with no real person to talk to are not our thing - when it matters, you reach people at BitStream.

BitStream develops proprietary software products with a strong focus on automation and technical traceability. The solutions reflect real system states in a structured manner and serve as a reliable basis for informed decision-making.
